We sample Eagle Creek annually to collect long-term fish monitoring data. We have routinely collected 6 native fish species in the upper half of this stream (Sonora sucker, desert sucker, longfin dace, speckled dace, Gila chub, and roundtail chub), with a distinct switch from native to non-native species occurring near a diversion dam built for mining operations in the area (Morenci, AZ). Endangered loach minnow and spikedace have been collected sporadically here, but have been absent in recent collections.
