River System Surveys

River system surveys are a vital tool in the management and conservation of native fish populations. These large, complex ecosystems require thorough and continuous monitoring due to the variety of challenges they face.

Rivers such as the Colorado, Salt, and Verde are impacted by several environmental and human factors such as habitat degradation, urbanization, release of invasive species, dams, and pollution.

At M&A, we understand the challenges faced in large systems. With over 50 years of compiled experience, we work together to help provide abundance and distribution of native fish, assess the quality of their habitats, and monitor invasive species that may impact those populations. Water quality and meso-habitat data is vital for the analysis of overall fish health. After all abiotic and biotic data is collected and analyzed, it is used to supplement management strategies. This includes but is not limited to; habitat restoration, species protection, or invasive species control, to  preserve the biodiversity of river systems for future generations.
