Eagle Creek June 2009 Report

Summary

Fish surveys were conducted on portions of Eagle Creek in Greenlee County, Arizona, during 14-16 June 2010 to determine species composition, distribution, and relative abundance.  Survey methods included backpack electroshocking, seining, dip netting, gill netting, trammel netting, and minnow trapping.  A total of 945 individuals were contacted, representing five native and seven non-native species.  Only non-native fishes were contacted at the two sites downstream of the Freeport McMoRan water diversion dam, while native species predominated at sites upstream of the dam.
